Beacon Pilates’ Teacher Training program is a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certifying Center

Classical Pilates Teacher Training

At Fitt Pilates, we believe exceptional Pilates instruction begins with a deep understanding of the classical method developed by Joseph Pilates.

Our Classical Pilates Teacher Training program, offered through our affiliation with Beacon Pilates, is rooted in the original teachings of Joseph Pilates and preserves the direct lineage of his method.

This comprehensive approach to Pilates education, taught and led by master instructors, goes beyond learning a series of exercises. It develops a deep understanding of the classical system, the purpose and progression of the work, and the ability to recognize and respond to each individual client’s needs.

Our goal is to help develop knowledgeable, observant, and thoughtful teachers who understand not only what to teach, but why.

Learn to teach the person, not just the exercises.

Classical Pilates is a complete, interconnected system. The exercises have purpose, order, and progression. Understanding how they work together is essential to teaching the method as it was intended.

Through comprehensive study of the classical repertoire, trainees develop the knowledge and practical skills to work with individuals at different stages of their Pilates journey. They learn to observe movement, recognize individual needs, make informed teaching decisions, and determine when to challenge, modify, or allow more time for progress.

Our program focuses on the ability to accommodate for all bodies, including injuries and issues with the back, shoulders, knees, hips, various mobility issues, pregnancy, neurological disorders, and more.

At Fitt Pilates, we offer our teacher trainees discounts on classes, privates, and workshops as well as mentorship and apprenticeship within our studio.

The Power of Classical Training

A comprehensive understanding of the method

Study the classical Pilates system and understand how the exercises work together to develop strength, stability, control, flexibility, and stamina.

Individualized instruction

Learn to observe each client's movement, understand their needs, and make thoughtful decisions rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Purposeful progression

Understand the relationship between exercises and how to build a client's abilities safely and appropriately over time.

Hands-on learning and mentorship

Develop teaching skills through personal practice, observation, practical experience, and guidance throughout your training.

A foundation for lifelong learning

Build the knowledge, discipline, and teaching judgment necessary to continue refining your skills throughout your career.

Career Flexibility

Classical Pilates training prepares you to teach across a variety of studio environments. With a comprehensive understanding of the method, you can bring your skills to classical and contemporary Pilates studios, group fitness settings, and other movement environments without being limited to one style or format of teaching.
